Current Gallery: cemetery ( piece)
Some may find it tasteless, but I have always been fascinated by cemeteries. Maybe it's because I grew up in a house that stood no less than arm's length from Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City. My bedroom window looked right out over and into the walled cemetery with its tombstones and withered old chestnut tree. I spent countless nights buried under the covers, shivering and sweating, listening for ghosts and goblins that never came. Now I stop in cemeteries often. I find them to be very peaceful places where I can meditate and remind myself of my mortality. I find them to be haunting, yet full of great beauty, peace, and even humor at times. When was the last time you visited a cemetery?
