Current Gallery: stipple ( piece)
The Beauty of Stippling... I just started to draw again after a few years of being too busy with school and work. Stippling is the type of drawing that I enjoy the most, using only one type of black archival pen. Drawing fish and inanimate objects are my choice of subject, not that I can't do faces but it's just too time consuming. An average 12x12 stipple drawing takes about 8 hours to do from start to finish, not including at least 2 hours of prep time. If my calculations are correct, the total number of dots is somewhere in the 150,000 to 160,000 range! I like stippling because when I draw something...it has to be perfect, and we all know that perfection is few and far between. So I decided to draw using nothing but 'Black Dots'. This way, I can have a chaotic but organized picture with nothing but flaws. 150,000 to 160,000 flaws together creates an amazing image from my point of view. This is the only way I can handle to enjoy drawing an unperfect artwork...and I hope ya'll enjoy them as much as I do. Thank you.
