Current Gallery: extraordinaryrendition ( piece)
I'm opening this new gallery as a place for the images in the Extraordinary Rendition series. Some of those images have been in my main gallery (Photocracy 1), where they've been a bit lost within the much larger collection of general interest photos. The ER series obviously has a point of view, which I want to separate from the aesthetic/decorative purposes of Photocracy 1. I'll be adding more ER images to this gallery as they're completed. With the images that have already appeared in Photocracy 1, I've asked this question: is there a nation or faction anywhere that does not torture its perceived enemies? I'm not trying to debate anyone's superficial justifications for torture, but to explore what happens deep inside of us - anywhere - in the face of methodical brutality. Here are some words: dread, horror, helplessness, seduction, excitement, dominion, determination, denial, activism. I hope the images penetrate beneath words like these. Please support Amnesty International and other brave organizations exposing and opposing torture.
