The nude in art has been for centuries a pre-occupation with artists and painters and in particular the female nude. Being mainly a figurative painter I have always been interested in portraying women as the subject matter for my work. Painting and drawing the female nude is always a challenge and what I am striving for is a new approach to the subject, somewhere between the figurative and the abstract, while still maintaining traditional form, in the hope to discover new ways to interrupt what I see before me in the model.
