my impression: While some may think, looking at work of Alexander Ilichev, from russia, that spatula technique is an old hat, for me Ilichev has proven those opinions wrong, adding something so modern and distinctive to his work, it leads me to believe I am sitting in the room with the protagonist. I am happy that settled artists like Alexander Ilichev are represented by my collection at reasenable prices, that said, him being presented at the Miami Art Week amongst other international art fairs. I paint spots of color, lines and dots. I know not how to paint psychology, depth of an image or a life lived by someone. And yet in a surprising way this all appears by itself.
