Current Gallery: LighthousesNautical ( piece)
Artist Statement: The wall art prints in the Lighthouse/Nautical Collections are my compilation of pieces I did centered around a coastal theme. The look is unique as I used a variety of watercolor and oil painting techniques. The different techniques create totally different visual experiences for a variety of interior designs. I also included color photographs as well as black and white photographs of lighthouses from those respective galleries. The styles I have presented, whether it be subtle or bold painting techniques along with the photography can be used in a variety of different decor. The final look depends heavily on the way the art print is matted and framed. The final presentation can make a world of difference allowing the print to either stand out as a focal point or blend in with the rest of the room as a complimentary addition to the overall look. My approach to the prints in this gallery is a coastal presentation. My representation is from the eastern seaboard and the west coast. The majority of the lighthouses are from the Oregon coastline with each lighthouse having its own unique architecture. Conversely, the majority of nautical prints (boats and harbors) are from the eastern seaboard where the beauty and charm of New England fishing villages is apparent.
