Description Abstract Tangram Map of the World. The Tangram is a Chinese dissection puzzle, consisting of seven flat shapes, called tans, which are put together to form shapes using all seven pieces, which may not overlap. The pieces consist of 2 large triangles, 1 medium triangle, 2 mall triangles, 1 square and 1 parallelogram, which when put together can form a perfect square. As well as forming specific shapes, a popular use of Tangrams is to create silhouettes of objects, such as animals, or people. In this world map, each country has been formed in this method with the seven individual pieces. Whilst there are no rules about the orientation of the individual tans in a Tangram, I have stuck to using just 0, 45 and 90 degree rotations.
